Over 4,000 Macao residents have been issued residence permits in Hengqin
Increasingly, Macao residents in Guangdong now enjoy more convenient livelihood services. According to the Administrative Committee of Hengqin New Area, Zhuhai, over 4,000 Macao residents have been issued residence permits in Hengqin, and more than 2,700 single-plate vehicles from Macao have entered the area.
People's livelihood plays an important role in the depth-cooperation between Guangdong and Macao. The statistics show that as of the end of August 2020, the Hengqin police station has offered 4,385 local residence permits for Macao residents, of which 253 were issued last month.
Furthermore, Macao residents have purchased more than 7,000 various real estate properties in Hengqin, covering an area of more than 500,000 square meters.
Earlier, Zhuhai further relaxed the entry and exit policy of Macao single-plate vehicles in Hengqin, extending the validity period of their entry and exit qualifications from three months to one year, and the quota was increased from 2,500 to 5,000. So far, Hengqin has issued a total of 2,712 license plates for motor vehicles from Macao.
According to statistics, Macao's single-plate vehicles have entered and left Hengqin 13,102 times and 13,103 times respectively, with an average daily entry and exit of 845 vehicles. The Hengqin authority revealed that they are working with Macao on making it possible for allowing more Macao-license plate vehicles for activities such as tourism and business in a phased access plan to Hengqin.
